Horse Day Camp Activities
We realize one size does not fit all when it comes to
riding! We carefully take age, size, and previous riding experience into
consideration as we plan a rider’s lessons.
- Two riding periods- Daily! Campers have one formal lesson and one
additional riding activity i.e. gymnastics, games etc. each day. In lessons, campers learn and practice riding disciplines such as balance, direction and confidence.
- Horsemanship- Daily!- Campers learn how to care for their horses with
activities such as grooming, tacking, first aid, hoof care, nutrition and
anatomy.
- Barn Chores- Daily!- Campers learn how to care for horses by
participating in daily chores- cleaning stalls/paddocks, cleaning tack, feeding and barn
maintenance.
- Entry level gymnastics on horseback is
an excellent way for campers to build confidence and balance.
- Rain days are filled with fun activities such as paint the pony, relay races, and more. (this is only if we have a rain day-otherwise schedule remains the same)
