THE SIMPLE PLAN of the Master Horseman

Design and Desire

I love my horse and desire to have a special relationship with him.  My horse instinctively knows he needs a herd leader and caretaker, and as a horseman, I want to be that leader.  He has a lot to learn before he becomes a dressage, reining, roping, jumping, racing or riding champion.  My horse will excel at many things, but his journey to fulfillment requires development of our relationship and patience as I teach and direct him, one step at a time.  Our relationship will enable him to be beautfiful, healthy, valuable and useful.

Trust

The relationship between horse and horseman requires trust.  If my horse chooses to go his own way, his rebellion and independence will separate us.  Without a leader to care for and direct him, my horse faces the dangers of being abused, hurt, misled or even killed.  I want my horse to trust me and understand the great hopes and plans I have for him.  A stubborn and untrusting horse will live a painful and wasted life.  If my horse doesn't trust and follow me, he is choosing the road to danger and death.

Love

I love my horse and am committed to be the horseman he needs.  Working consistently to prove my love for him, I will do whatever it takes and pay any price to show him that I am a loving, trustworthy and dedicated horseman.  This trust and love is not based on performance, but rather on his surrender.  I offer this friendship and relationship as a gift to my horse because I chose him and I love him more than he can ever understand.

Respect and Choices

My horse must choose to trust and follow me, or he chooses to follow his own path to danger, difficulty, and death.  I will gently guide and persuade my horse to follow me, but I won't force him.  If my horse continues to choose his way over mine, his life will only become more difficult as he faces an uncertain future.  Will he turn to me, trust me and allow me to lead?  Will he surrender to me and accept my gift of friendship and love?

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Your Design and Desire

There is someone who wants to have a relationship with you.  Like my horse, we all have a need for a leader, a Master Horseman, who will love and care for us.  God is an awesome leader who created us with this characteristic.  He loves you and created you to know Him personally.  His plans for your life will be rewarding and fulfilling if followed because He knows how to care for you, just as you know how to care for your horse.  If you're willing, God will lead you on an unforgettable journey, patiently teaching and directing you one simple step at a time.

"For I know the plans I have for you, delcares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"  Jeremiah 29:11

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest"  John 10:10B

It's All About Trust

Similar to the horse, we have a fear of, or rebellion toward, our Master Horseman, God.  We were created to have fellowship with God, but we have chosen to go our own way because of our stubborn will.  This indifference and rebellion toward God is called sin.  We have all sinned in some way.  God is holy (totally clean and without sin) and can't be connected with our sin.  Our sin separates us from God.  The penalty for sin is death and eternal separation from God.  If we choose not to trust God, we are choosing difficulty, danger, hurt, loneliness, fear and death.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord" Romans 6:23

His Love

Just as the horseman offers his horse the gift of love, God, the Master Horseman, also offers you a gift.  God wants to restore this broken relationship and rescue us from our sinful selves.  He proved His love for us by providing His only Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for our sins.  Though blameless and without sin, Jesus paid our death penalty with His life on the cross.  Death could not hold Him in the grave and He came back to life on the third day.  Jesus is our only hope of restoration with God.  Through Jesus Christ we can experience the forgiveness of sin as we enter into a personal relationship with God.  The Master Horseman is trustworthy and He is pursuing you now with love, peace and purpose.

"But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8

"God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16

Respect & Your Choices

Now, you must make a choice.  God, the Master Horseman, is offering you a true relationship.  Will you follow and trust HIM, or will you continue to follow your own path leading to difficulty, loneliness, and death?  Only you can decide. Will you surrender your selfish desires and accept His free gift of restoration, forgiveness, friendship, fatherhood and love?  If you choose to believe and receive His free gift and turn to His leadership, you can know God and personally experience the fullness of HIS love.  This relationship with Jesus Christ is more graceful and beautiful than the very best relationship between a skilled horseman and a trusting horse.  It is a life-long journey with your Creator who has a wonderful plan for your life.

WILL YOU RIDE WITH HIM?

"If  you will confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved"    Romans 10:9-10

" Christ says "Behold, I stand at the door and knock;  if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him"  Revelation 3:20

The Choice Is Now Yours.....

Are you ready to begin your journey?  If so, let me encourage you to pray a simple prayer like the one below.  Receive God's free gift right now through prayer (prayer is talking to God).  God knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your Heart.

Dear Jesus, I want a relationship with you.  I admit that I am a sinner and ask you to forgive me for my sinful attitude and actions.  I choose you as the leader of my life.  I believe You are Jesus Christ, God's Son and that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead.  Thank you for your gift of forgiveness and for the promise of eternal life with you.  Please take control of my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be.  I want to surrender to you daily and follow you wherever you lead.  Thank you, I believe you, and I trust you! Amen

If this prayer expressed the true desires of your heart and your belief in Jesus Christ as your Savior, Christ will come into your life as He promised!

"The witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that YOU MAY KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE!  1 John 5:11-13

Can you think of anything more exciting than knowing you have a personal friendship with the Creator of all things and that He loves you dearly?

Why Not Praise God and Thank Him Right Now!

WHAT NOW?

Just as we don't expect our horses to be perfect right away, God does not expect you to be perfect.  He will lead you each step of the way and help you become the person He desires you to be.  Just as our horse learns and grows by following our leading, you will also learn and grow as you trust God's leading.
